Behavioral Health Nonprofits Merge

ROI-NJ, May 2021 - A pair of New Jersey mental health nonprofits have joined forces in a merger, as COPE Center has become part of the Oaks Integrated Care family of services, the two announced Tuesday. COPE Center, headquartered in Montclair and serving Essex County, helps people overcome challenges involving drugs, alcohol, family and AIDS. The name stands for Counseling, Outreach, Prevention and Education. Oaks Integrated Care, which has 25 locations in the state, primarily in Central and South Jersey, serves individuals living with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Justice Involved Services: “More Like a Family Than a Program”

Helping one another through difficult situations can often provide the most impactful and rewarding results. Sometimes, all it takes is showing someone how much they matter. Oaks brings together support like this to its 230 programs through community services and compassion. Our Jail Diversion and Correctional Case Management program (JIS) specializes in diverting nonviolent mental health consumers from the criminal justice system to appropriate mental health services in the community. The program increases resource coordination between mental health, criminal justice, and social services systems. Burlington County Announces Launch of Overdose Fatality Review Team

Central Jersey, March 2021 -Burlington County is forming an Overdose Fatality Review Team as part of its continuing efforts to combat the substance use disorder epidemic. The new Burlington County team is being funded with a $100,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and will perform confidential reviews of overdose deaths in the county, and the circumstances and contributing causes surrounding them, according to information provided by the county.
